Celebrating the Second Annual American Business Women’s Day Professional Moms Luncheon

September 30th, 2025, felt like a dream and that's exactly how it should feel when you work with such a hardworking team. I am grateful for Kim, Tami, Julie, Joy, and Becca, and what we have created! In January 2024, I sat down with Kim as she was looking for someone to help book the Glenview & Northbrook Professional Moms Monthly networking events. With my passion and love for putting events together, I volunteered instantly and met up where we talked about the events, but also something bigger.

A Dream of Togetherness

The founder of Park Ridge Professional Mom and now the PMCN, Tami Palmer, was already doing events with 50+ women. We knew that was something we could build together. Jumping right in I browsed the calendar for what could be the date for our celebration and what immediately stood out was American Business Women's Day. It encapsulates who we are supporting and bringing together.

In the time it took to create this exciting event, three new chapters, Julie (Morton Grove), Becca (Highland Park), and myself (Deerfield) launched. We all came together with Glenview/Northbrook Professional Moms of Joy and Kim and last year hosted something that was truly a game changer with 80 incredible business women in the beautiful Hangar Two in Glenview, Illinois. We knew this celebration had to continue. This had to become a yearly thing, and has it ever!

A Gathering of Empowered Women

The Second Annual American Business Women’s Day Professional Moms Luncheon was truly a treasure, bringing together 140 women in celebration of our diverse professions. When I first walked into the room, it was beautiful, but not yet alive. Tables were still being set, final touches were being decided, and the energy had not quite taken shape. In just an hour, with everyone stepping into their special roles, the room transformed into something magical.

You could truly tell the impact we were making is unstoppable. Julie, our project manager, made sure everything flowed perfectly. Becca and Joy greeted guests and then joined in the excitement. Kim and Tammi  MCs of the day, and I coordinated the swag bags while capturing reactions and video testimonials. Experiencing the shift from an empty room to a vibrant, energized space allowed me to feel what was truly being created. By the time the event began, the room was alive with energy, connection, and celebration, and I could not be more grateful for the incredible teamwork that brought it all together.

Understanding Our Growth

The ceremony is significant not just for celebrating women in business, but also for highlighting the growth of our chapters. Since the inception of the first event, we've seen a strong surge in participation. Members who once met in small gatherings now fill halls with enthusiastic voices, sharing stories, challenges, and triumphs.

As we celebrated that day, it was essential to acknowledge how far we've come. With every new member, we add value to our chapters and create opportunities for support and connection. In just a year and a half, we have expanded our network, paving the way for more targeted mentorship, resource sharing, and growth potential.

The value of events like these extends beyond the day itself. Connections formed during the event have led to collaboration, new business opportunities, and friendships that transcend professional boundaries. When women come together, the possibility for growth multiplies tremendously.
