What's Your Realm of Brilliance?
When was the last time someone asked you what you're truly brilliant at?
Not what you do for work.
Not what degree you earned.
Not your job title.
Not the roles you've taken on for everyone else.
But what is your realm of brilliance?
I recently found myself saying something I had never said before:
"Remembering names isn't my realm of brilliance."
The words caught me off guard.
The more I sat with them, the more I realized how much freedom they carried.
We spend so much of our lives measuring ourselves against other people's strengths. We notice the things that come easily to someone else and quietly wonder why they don't come as naturally to us.
But what if we've been asking the wrong question?
Instead of asking, "Why am I not better at that?"
What if we asked,
"What is my realm of brilliance?"
Your realm of brilliance is the place where your natural strengths, lived experiences, curiosity, wisdom, and joy come together.
It's the thing people naturally seek you out for.
The conversations you lose track of time having.
The work that energizes you instead of draining you.
The moments when you feel completely yourself.
For some people, it's creating beauty.
For others, it's solving complex problems.
It might be making people feel safe.
Seeing possibilities others overlook.
Organizing chaos.
Building businesses.
Teaching.
Listening.
Leading.
Connecting people who need to know one another.
Helping someone believe in themselves again.
None of these realms are more valuable than another.
They're simply different expressions of how each of us contributes to the world.
The challenge is that many of us spend years trying to become exceptional at things that were never ours to carry.
We compare ourselves to people whose brilliance looks different from our own.
And in doing so, we overlook the gifts that have been quietly present all along.
One of the greatest shifts we can make isn't becoming more like someone else.
It's becoming more fully ourselves.
When we understand our own realm of brilliance, something changes.
We stop apologizing for who we aren't.
We stop chasing someone else's definition of success.
We begin making decisions that align with who we truly are.
That's where intuition becomes so important.
Your intuition isn't trying to turn you into someone else.
It's constantly guiding you back toward the life, work, and relationships that are aligned with who you already are.
The more you learn to trust that inner guidance, the easier it becomes to recognize your own brilliance instead of searching for it somewhere outside yourself.
So today, I want to leave you with one simple question:
What's your realm of brilliance?
Take a moment before answering.
Think about the moments when you feel most alive.
The work that feels meaningful.
The ways you've impacted others without even realizing it.
Your answer may surprise you.
And if you're not sure yet, that's okay.
Sometimes discovering your realm of brilliance isn't about finding something new.
It's about remembering what has always been there.
If you're in a season of rediscovering yourself, learning to trust your intuition, or trying to uncover what makes you uniquely you, you don't have to navigate it alone.
That's exactly why I offer holistic counseling.
Together, we create a space to slow down, quiet the outside noise, reconnect with your inner wisdom, and uncover the gifts that have been waiting beneath the surface all along.
Because the world doesn't need another version of someone else.
It needs the fullest expression of you.
